You know, there’s more to Health and Wellness than just the information we receive from the Internet, or Facebook, or the Nightly News. Yes, it’s important to be informed. In fact, I always say, “Don’t be Afraid – Be Informed.” We need to know what’s going on in the world around us. We need to be armed with the latest updates in research, treatment and medical technology. We need to be intelligent with our choices for our healthcare.
But, in a way all of these things engage the right hemisphere of our brain. The “thinking” side of our brain. The “intellectual” side of our brain. And exercising this side of our brain is a great thing to do AND necessary for survival.
Yet, there is another part of our brain that can’t be neglected. The left hemisphere is often described as that part that recognizes and appreciates not so much the intellectual issues around us but, instead, the beauty, emotion and subtle nuances in the world around us. Some people believe it represents the “creative” side of our brain. The softer side of life. The inspiration and peace we gain from music, dance, art and poetry.
And, to be truly healthy and well we need to find a balance of both. Because, one cannot survive without the other. Each one compliments the other. And, each one becomes stronger and more defined because of the other.
To that end, in addition to the hard facts and figures I work with every day, I offer these pages as well. Pages that contain nothing more than Beauty for the Eye and Inspiration for the Soul. My hope is that in some small way their softer focus will help you on your way each day. And, I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy creating them!
