More news on the skin cancer front! While not the first study of its kind, it is one of the largest! The Cancer journal recently reported that research on approximately 60,000 post-menopausal Caucasian women over a 12 year period who took aspirin a few times each week lowered their risk of developing melanoma by twenty percent. Furthermore, women who took aspirin regularly for five or more years lowered their risk for the disease by thirty percent!
Now this is significant not only because of the decrease of twenty to thirty percent, but because this study group represents women who share the greatest risk for developing melanoma. Now, several studies over the years have suggested that aspirin may be a contributing factor that helps lower one’s risk for several different cancers, including those of the colon, breast, stomach, prostate and ovary.
This doesn’t mean we should all run out and start taking aspirin. But, it is something we want to keep our eyes on and perhaps discuss with our physicians. Review this information in Volume 1 of the Single Source Cancer Course and read more at:
